The “curador” claims to have been born with the gift of healing bites through his spittle. The owner of this power may transmit it to others by spitting in their mouths or in the water that is drunk by the bitten patient. One who receives the spittle in his mouth becomes a “curado” and obtains the gift of healing snakebites.
